I'd like to create a new profile on Stumbleupon, but the thing won't let me.
It's forever showing a rotating "please wait" circle after I ente my preferred username, and then...nothing.
I'd like to use Stumbleupon's url shorterner instead of Bit.ly as per Lilach's advice when she came to see us on the course last Friday.

Hello,
Ever since I've been online, I've looked to leverage by outsourcing.
My first attempt saw me use a PA from the philippines who worked on my Facebook, and disappeared with half a months pre-paid. I ran into a copywriter across the pond who I ended up giving english lessons to, and my first significant web-project, outsourced 5 timezones away got a delay that was such that I could never launch it...also met some great outsourcers along the way and got great successes with other projects.
Overall, though, the process has been very painful and frustrating, You're looking for help, get the opposite, plus waste money in the process. It can affect your morale, and I sure am no exception to that and that my experience will resonnate with many of you.
After my first few failure with oursourcing, I decided to outsource locally, and found my lovely PA, Vicky, who is a real sunshine for our company and a real support for all of us working with ICC.

Hello,
The YouTube PPC overlay strategy will muliply the number of clickthoughs you get from your videos like nothing else before.
In the video below, I explain this simple strategy, open to anyone having a commercial video on YouTube, and even give you the powerpoint template to go with it.
I recommend you open a separate window to view this inside YouTube, typing in the following url as the overlay I'm demonstrating is deactivated when outside YouTube
Just click or cut and paste into your browser:

Hello,
Received this latest bit of news, which should also have popped up on your Facebook Pages. Make sure to let your developer know if you're, like me, in the process of making changes to your Facebook Page.
"We announced plans last October to remove application boxes and application info sections as well as reduce the width of application tabs to optimize for the new profile and Facebook Pages format. We will be moving forward with these changes the week of August 23 and want to help you understand what to expect.
Based on feedback from developers, we have committed to the following plans to ensure a smooth transition:
* Boxes. We will notify users via messaging in profile boxes and in the Help Center that the "Boxes" tab, boxes on profiles and Pages, and application info sections will be going away.

In the 80s, we envisioned:
"A computer on every desk"
As more and more people will have to have their own business, are we going to see:
"A shopping cart in every home" ?
I think it's not a question of whether it's going to happen, but how quickly. We're all going to have to present and sell our services, and I personally think we'll all have some form of shopping cart solution, and in fact also an affiliate platform to facilitate and structure referrals.
What do you think ?

It's simple: Get your ad to point towards your Facebook fan page, not an external site. Your Facebook fan page should become like a secondary website for you anyway, and Facebook adverts are a great way for you to justify the investment.
Facebook likes when customers remain within Facebook because it benefits both the customer's browsing experience, and Facebook, hence your adcost is less. Plus you'll convert more if your client stays within Facebook too...
I was chatting with some colleagues over the week-end, and one of them reports a drop of 48% in Adcost, and that's even before taking into account the higher conversion...

New kid on the block, TweetAttacks, seems to be gaining ground on ailing TweetAdder. But is it any good ?
I have no idea since I can't figure out in what way it's different, and what the non-use of the API really does. Seems a bit of a strange tool that's not completely self standing either since it uses Social Oomph as a conduit for some functions...
If you've tried it already, do let us know of your experience.
We'll probably review it ourselves in August otherwise.

I've read a very interesting report by Ryan Deiss, where he explains, eloquant proof at hand, that the top 3 PPC ads now get less traffic than the last page 1 organic one.
In other words, people have become used to knowing they are ads, and become blind to them.
Do you agree, and what conclusions would you make as to the use of PPC ?
William
PS: Thanks to Vincent Leleux for pointing me towards this report.

I already had this debate on the 4N forum where users blatently compete on who's got the largest signature. As a result, the forum is very difficult to read. Show also about the desire to push rather than share.
And today, after posting a blog on here, I got the same experience from another user, which is very rare on Ecademy. It deterred me a little.
So what do you think ? What is acceptable, what's not, where do we draw the line on Ecademy?

50% of your tweets at least should be organic, allowing the other half to be automatic.
That it's sent automatically does not mean it has to be rubbish. In fact it can be quite the opposite.
Let me explain:
Why do people follow you ? Because of your skill, expertise, and because of the people you know, an expression of your true reach.
Finding relevant content and blogs displays skill, expertise, and true reach. These blogs have RSS and you can link those to your Twitter account. If done well, this "personal selection" can be very valuable to your followers.
Your automatic tweets should therefore
1. Be RSS linked to your own blog so your own posts obvioulsy go out as "news"
2. Be RSS linked to the experts you follow's blogs, once again getting the word out in real time
The sum of 1 and 2 should not excede 50% of your tweets, which is why all this takes some thinking.

Don’t you just love this great Video by Your Business Channel ?
The tribe concept, which consists in harnessing the power of re-tweets to show support within a closed group will give your boardroom a new dimension.
